Coco Nutt

MAKE-UP: Steven Retchless

Diva Sponsor: Casa Cupula

Simon shares his motivations for participating in

"What A Drag." "I am participating in WAD because I have known the founder of Casa Esperanza and Freda for almost 14 years and always thought it would be fun to take part."

Simon chose Puerto Vallarta as the stage for his transformation, sharing, "I chose Vallarta because I had never been to this side of the world, and a friend who has known me all my life lived here. So, I thought it would be a chance to spend some time here and learn some Spanish."

Originally from Northern Ireland, Simon made the move to Vallarta full-time in July 2022, after frequent visits since 2010. Explaining his drag name, he says, "My Drag name started as Coco because that was the name of my first pet as a child, I added the Nutt because I can be a little crazy."

Brandon shares his motivation for joining "What A Drag," expressing gratitude to friends Franklin and Jorge from Tropicasa who introduced him to the event. “They said I had the perfect body type for the show… whatever that means!” Despite initial uncertainties about his physique, Brandon is excited to unleash his inner performer and contribute to the noble cause supported by the organization.

Explaining his choice of Puerto Vallarta, Brandon recounts his love for Mexico since his early twenties and the captivating allure of Vallarta, where the mountains and jungle meet beautiful beaches and water. He highlights the vibrant city life, delectable cuisine, and, most importantly, the warmth of the people, declaring them the best anywhere in the world.

When asked about his drag name, Brandon reveals, "My teenage daughter came up with the name. Brandi was an easy derivation of my name, Brandon, and Styles came from Harry Styles."

This week, our spotlight is on Seattle's very own Mike Eggerling, proudly sponsored by Hogar Realtors. Mike, along with his wife Leslie of 39 years, has been a steadfast supporter of 'What A Drag,' underlining their dedication to causes close to their hearts. Mike, a seasoned figure in the rental property business for 40 years, is not a newcomer to the event. He expressed his commitment, stating, "This is definitely a good cause, and we've been attending WAD throughout the years. We love to support causes that matter to us."

Working alongside his Fairy Drag Mother and Hair/Make-up Artist, Carlos de Niz AKA Karla Fifi, Mike and other contestants collaborate with talented teams to craft their fabulous drag personas.  Carlos has been a past WAD supporter as a Fairy Drag Mother and is a popular drag queen, performing at various venues around Puerto Vallarta.  Mike's drag alter ego goes by the name "Queen Tut," a mystery that awaits discovery at the show.
